Rita and Bob worked side by side in the kitchen seven days a week trying against ex- treme odds to do things properly . . . It was difficult under circum- stances that prevailed . . . and as hard as they worked Pumperniks could not get off the ground. Today, however, the story is very much different . . . Bob still assists in the kitchen seven days a week . . . but wife Rita is able to circulate among the customers making certain they are satisfied . . . plus greet them on arrival .. . Bob's sister, Bernice Nestorovic, is a very pleasant hostess who also makes folks feel at home. There are many restaurants which would rather people didn't see their kitchen . . . If the cus- tomers did, they would never re- turn . . . This is not so at Brass Pointe . . . whose pride in a gleam- ing stainless steelarea is such that they had it built open so folks could see for themselves. Although good broasted chic- ken has become the rage there since being discovered at Brass Pointe, it presents a diversified menu that includes very good barbecue ribs, Mexican dishes, fresh fish daily and other choices . . . Omelettes are only served 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. . . Everything else at any time, including the homemade soups. It is so pleasurable now to see this restaurant without that dark, dingy look . . . and closed-in feel- ing . There's even a satellite dish outside on a long pole to re- ceive major sports and other cable events. Our broasted chicken was so de- licious, we too wondered where else in this area it is prepared so moist and tender ... Unlike deep-fried chicken proper broast- ing cooks the bird throughout . . Removing the skin when desired, therefore does not take away its wonderful taste. You'll like the rice pudding, also, at Brass Pointe ... made by Bob . . . and served warm with sides of cinnamon and nutmeg for those 'who. wish the spices. The dark walls are gone .. . there's a bright new look . . . and still to come are dividers between the booths . . . A service bar dis- penses wines, cocktails and liquors . . . Farmington Hills at this sector may widen Orchard Lake Road. But the major story behind Brass Pointe is the difference in its food served Sunday- Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Remember . . . good broasted chicken is not.the easiest thing to make . . is an extremely important factor. Because Bob and Rita have its preparation down pat is why folks are flocking,to Brass Pointe from everywhere .. . with such reg- ularity .. . to, enjoy broasted chic- ken at its best.
