THE DEIROIT JEWISH NEWS ji Friday, October 11, 1985 11 EDUCATION FOR CHARACTER A recent report on the benefits of education concludes: art "You'll Be Prepared for a Career; You'll Have a Better Chance of Getting aJob; You'll Have a Better Chance of Getting a GoodJob; You'll Have a Better Chance of Earning More." EDUCATION FOR CHARACTER... ...to elevate the mind and heart; ...to intensify love of neighbor; ...to understand and respect G d. - This is the program of the Lubavitch Foundation of Michigan for the Jewish people, and its hope for mankind. "It is self-evident that harmonious and total freedom cannot be achieved in a way of life whereby the soul (the G-dliness in Man) is subordinate to the body, and both (body and soul) are subjected to the material world." Rabbi M.M. Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe To strengthen this program, we pay tribute to MRS. EMMA LAZAROFF-SCHAVER, "First Lady of Philanthropy" in Michigan, in whose honor Maestro Isaac Stern will perform in concert on Wednesday, November 20, 1985, at the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit. Because we believe this message has profound meaning for all people, we the undersigned have been moved to bring it to your attention.
