bustle of activity along Orchard
Lake Road goes on at 14 Mile or
Maple (15 Mile) . . . there's a por-
tion that hasn't as yet gotten the
biggie note received by these
areas.
It's Orchard Lake Road and Ten
Mile . . . That's where the Brass
Pointe Restaurant is located . . . It
used to be known as Pumperniks
. . . but a very big change has in-
deed taken place.
No more crowded look . . . like it
once had even without people .. .
It's spacious and airy . . . seating
137 at booths and tables . . . as
ceiling fans whirl in gracious
turns to cleanse the air . . . Booth
backings are covered with a pat-
terned vinyl . . . and the intimate
sectors are not the cramped kind
anyinore . . . but wide and roomy.
The much larger area, art deco
pictures on the soft pink walls,
long chain chandeliers over pad-
ded booths and very clean look are
among assets that make Brass
Pointe an informal dining-out
pleasure.
The food before a completely
new facelift was hardly more than
par . . . However, to go along with
its fresh look and new name,
there's also a distinctly different
enjoyment awaiting many taste
buds.
This is particularly true of the
broasted chicken served at Brass
Pointe . . . not the ordinary . . .
Moist, tender and excellently pre-
pared . . . with superb delicious-
ness . . . The service too, at Brass
Pointe now also blends in with its
pleasant decor.
Our first waitress, Vicky Mas-
sey, smiling and cordial, brought
us a cold, crisp salad on an oblong
plate . . . and chunky bleu cheese
that is made at Brass Pointe along
with a ranch dressing . . . At an-
other table, a women had the role
slaw which is thankfully not
served in paper cups . . . It comes
in a ceramic "monkey" dish .. .
and a slight smile of satisfaction
appeared on her face.
It was time for Vicky to be off
. . . and in her stead appeared very
efficient, personable and smiling
Kitty Warner, who brought us our
broasted chicken, garlic Texas
toast and large broasted potatoes
. . . (it also comes with choice of
soup rather than salad or role
slaw).
How many places can you name
that haire good broasted chicken
. .. not many, I'm sure . . . If
you've been searching for one,
look no further than Brass Pointe.
The preparation of good
broasted chicken is an art in itself
. . . slightly dusted in light flour,
dipped in vegetable oil . . . and
pressure cooked for ten. minutes
. . . It is very important that good
broasted chicken is not taken out
of pressure cookers less than ten
minutes . . . Otherwise it is not
cooked through to present the
tenderness and moistness desired
. . . Many times, when not enough
time is allowed for bronsting,
there are also sights of blood.
Brass Pointe prides itself on the
broasted chicken . . . It should...
people are coming from
everywhere to enjoy thisyery de-
licious and healthy treat.
