Set For Walk & Fair
They'll come by foot, by car,
and by plane for Sunday's
We Walk As One and
Community Fair.

Several members of the Jewish
community have found a novel way of
participating in Sunday's We Walk As
One and Community Fair: they'll fly
over it. A Jewish pilots' group — the
Chai Flyers — plan to tow a colorful
banner above Sunday's festivities.
Down on the ground, hundreds of
people will be gathering for the event
at the, ' Jewish Community Center in
,West Bloomfield. The celebration will
begin with the 1 p.m. walk registra-
tion at the Hechtman Federation
Apartments, just west of the Center,
when walkers receive their route
map/checkpoint cards. Those who
have signed up sponsors will be turn-
ing in their registration envelopes and
pre-collected money and will receive a
Walk As One T-shirt. Anyone who has
not pre-registered can also sign up at 1
P.m.
With a Jewish War Veterans'
colorguard leading the way, walkers
will embark on an 18-kilometer (11-
mile) route, beginning with a mini-
walk from the apartments to the Cen-
ter.
The festivities will continue at the
Community Fair, starting at 2:30 p.m.
