Leonard Stein

Leonard J. Stein, former co-
owner of Canton China and
Equipment, died Sept. 30 at age
68.
Born in Canton. Ohio, Mr.
Stein lived 56 years in Detroit.
He was a former member of
Zager-Stone Lodge of B'nai
B'rith and Knollwood Country
Club.
He leaves his wife, June; a
son, Kenneth of Ft. Lauderdale.
Fla.; a daughter, Dianne Katy;
two sisters, Mrs. Meyer (Sarah . )
Pearlman and Mrs. Ralph

Simone Signoret

Paris — French actress
Simone Signoret died Sept. 30 at
age 64 .
Born Simone Henriette Char-
lotte Kaminker in Wiesbaden,
Germany, Ms. Signoret moved
with her family to Paris when
she was 12. During the Nazi
era, her father joined the resis-
tance in London.
She won an Oscar in 1959 for
her role in Room at the Top. In
1977, she appeared in the film,

Madame Rosa.

Ms. Signoret published a
novel and three non-fiction
works.

Jennie Kramer. a life member
of Miarachi, Hadassah,
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah. Cong.
Shaarey Zedek and its sister-
hood and United Hebrew
SLthools. died Sept. 28 at age 99.
A native Detroiter. Mrs.
Kramer leaves three sons,
Harold. (kwar, Charles 'Shy' of
Margate. N.J.; two daughters.

Harbor, Fla.; 14 grandchildren

was a World War I veteran,

the Jewish War Veterans and
member of Knollwod Country
Club,
Mr. Orley was actively in-
volved in the activities of the
Jewish Welfare Federation,
American Society for Technion,
Bar-Ilan University, Jewish
Technological Society and
Jewish War Veterans Honor
Guard.
He leaves his wife, Sylvia; two
sons, Joseph H. and Graham A.;
a daughter, Mrs. Robert A.
(Rhea) Brody; a sister, Mrs.
Michael (Freda) Leighton of San
Diego, Calif.; 19 grandchildren
and ten mat-grandchildren.
