circus is a show in itself.
Whether he is adeptly using his
feather duster to dust off a
young child's head or offering a
hand to an elderly couple seek-
ing their seats, he brings a
smile to nearly everyone's face.
"It's really a lot of hard
work," said Linker. "I am work-
ing much harder now than when
I started five years ago."
Although he graduated from
Clown College and hooked on
with the show, a degree from
clown school does not auto-
matically guarantee a job with
the circus, Linker said. For him,
Clown College was a gamble
that paid off.
"I learned more in ten weeks
at Ringling Bros. and Barnum
& Bailey Clown College than I
did in all the time I spent in
New York City trying to break
into comedy," Linker said.

Emmet Kelly and Red Skelton
are two of Linker's greatest
influences.
"My work is my pleasure ..
my outlet," the clown said. Ile
added that he doesn't drink be-
cause "I get paid to have fun
and act crazy." And he noted
that he is "part of a team."
While the circus provides per-
formers with accommodations,
each entertainer must feed him
or herself. That notwithstand-
ing, Linker said he is "saving an
incredible amount of money"
and banking a large portion of
his income.
"They're paying me for what I
used to get thrown out of school
for," the soft-spoken Linker said
from a communal dressing room
for clowns known as "Clown Al-
ley."
"I am very lucky. Not every-
body gets paid for doing what
they love to do."

No Extradition For Killers

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Three
Palestine Liberation Organiza-
tion terrorists who murdered an
Israeli couple and their friend
aboard a yacht in Larnaca, Cyp-
ress, last week are not likely to
be extradited to Israel for trial.
Israel's extradition request
was presented to the Cypriot
Foreign Ministry last Friday by
Ambassador Meir Gavish who
was promised a reply after it is
studied by the attorney general.
But a Cypriot government said
it would be rejected on grounds
that the murders were commit-
ted in. Cyprus and Cyprus,
therefore, is responsible to bring
the killers to trial.
The heavily armed trio who
seized the yacht at the Larnaca
tourist marina before dawn on
Yom Kippur and surrendered 10
hours later after committing
triple murder, claimed they
were Palestinians.
Two of them, Elias Yehiya

and Nasif Mahmoud, apparently
are, but the third, who initially
gave his name as George Han-
nah, has been identified as an
Englishman, Ian Michael Davi-
son of South Shields. He de-
scribed himself to television re-
porters as "a skinhead, a real
young fascist thug."
Early reports from Larnaca
Wednesday indicated that Davi-
son, alias Hannah, was German.
Davison said he was among
the 1,200 PLO fighters
evacuated from Tripoli, northern
Lebanon, to Yemen in 1983. He
said he joined the PLO after se-
eing photographs of the 1982
Sabra and Shatila refugee
camps massacres. He became a
fervent supporter of PLO chief
Yassir Arafat.
According to the British press,
Davison belonged to the PLO
elite unit known as Force 17
which was formed originally as
Arafat's bodyguard.
