Dr. Pinchas Peli, senior lecturer
in Jewish thought and chairman
of the department of Hebrew lit-
erature at Ben-Gurion Univer-
sity of the Negev.
Dr. Peli will be in Detroit as
the first Midrasha Bargman
scholar-in-residence.

Cancer Association, Michigan
Branch, will hold their sixth
annual dinner-dance at 6:30
p.m. Nov. 2 at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
The affair has been dedicated
in memory of Mrs. Emma Weiss
who for many years was a
staunch supporter of Israel.
Sigmunt Rubin and Agi Ru-
bin, general chairmen, announce
that Ms. Miriam Edelist, inter-
national branch coordinator of
the ICA, will be the featured
speaker. Ms. Edelist has held
many key administrative posts
in the association and will high-
light her talk with a slide pre-
sentation depicting the advances
made in Israel in the early de-
tection and treatment of cancer.
Zoltan Rubin, branch
president, who was a recent vis-
itor at the ICA in Tel Aviv will
give a detailed report on past
projects.
