Under the leadership of
chairman Michael W. Maddin,
missions to Israel promise to
play a key role in the 1986 Al-
lied Jewish Campaign.
For starters, Campaign
chairmen Stanley D. Frankel
and Paul D. Borman will lead a
United Jewish Appeal-sponsored
*President's Mission to Vienna
and Israel, in October, for con-
tributors of $10,000.
Other missions this year in-
clude National Study Missions
featuring stops in Prague, Po-
land or Casablanca, in addition
to Israel. These learning tours
provide a special understanding
of Detroit's partners overseas.
The popular winter and sum-
mer National Singles Missions
give participants (age 25-40) a
chance to witness the sights and
sounds of Israel's historical and
cultural centers, and meet and
socialize with young Israelis.
The itinerary is full, but time is
set aside for exploring away
from the group.
Another favorite is the Na-
tional Family Mission. Maddin
hopes to lead a contingency of
ten Detroit area families, in
addition to his own wife and
