In 1980, the Silvers were hon-
ored by the Orthodox commu-
nity of Greater Detroit "for their
devotion to Israel and help for
Jews newly arrived from the
USSR." Silver also was the 1980
recipient of the Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah Golden Torah award
for his labors on behalf of the
Yeshivath and Torah study."
In September 1985, the Sil-
vers have together endowed the
David and Esther Silver Educa-
tional Program at the Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah.
The Silvers have been fre-
quent visitors to Israel, where
both David and Esther Silver
have 'extensive families. A med-
ical clinic bears their name in
the port city of Ashdod, and
they have dedicated a forest.
An open house in honor of
their anniversary will be held
on Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m.
at their home, 19471 Robson,
Detroit. Family and friends are
invited to attend.
