Banker Honored At JNF Dinner

Dean E. Richardson, chairman
and chief executive officer of
Manufacturers National Corp.
and chairman of its largest sub-
sidiary, Manufacturers National
Bank of Detroit, will be honored
with the Jewish National Fund's
highest honor, the "Tree of Life"
Award on Oct. 23 at a dinner at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Richardson is on the executive
committee of the Greater De-
troit Round Table of the Na-
tional Conference of Christians
and Jews.
Richardson began his banking
career in 1953 with Industrial
National Bank-Detroit and be-
came associated with Manufac-
turers National Bank of Detroit
in 1955 when the two banks
consolidated. He was named an

officer in 1959, vice presdient in
1962, senior vice president in
1966, executive vice president in
1967, a director in 1968,
president in November 1969 and
chief executive officer in March
1973. In October 1973, he be-
came chairman of the board.
Richardson is a director of De-
troit Edison Co., Fruehauf
Corp., R.P. Scherer Corp. and
Tecumseh Products Co. He is
chairman of the board of
Manufacturers-Detroit Interna-
tional Corp., a director of Atlan-
tic International Bank, Ltd.,
London, and Atlantic Capital
Ltd., Hong Kong. He is a
member of the American Ban-
kers Association, Association of
Reserve City Bankers, director-
at-large of Bank Administration
Institute, member of the Inter-
national Monetary Conference
and the Detroit and Michigan
Bar Associations. He is also a
member and past president of
the Michigan Bankers Associa-
tion.
Actively involved in civic af-
fairs, Richardson is chairman of
the board of. Harper-Grace Hos-
pitals and HGH Health System
and director and treasurer of
United Foundation. He also is a
director of the Automobile Club
of Michigan, Detroit Renais-

sance, Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra and the Economic Club
of Detroit. He is a trustee of the
Citizens Research Council of
Michigan, Detroit Economic
Growth Corp., Detroit Medical
Center Corp. and Interlochen
Center for the Arts.

& Lybrand; Gerald Greenwald,
Chrysler Corp.; and Richard D.
