Northland Center will produce
and stage the Israel Bond fash-
ion show dinner to be held at 7
p.m. Oct. 16, with a cocktail re-
ception at 6 p.m., at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek, it was an-
nounced by Doreen Hermelin,
Metro Detroit Israel Bonds
Women's Division chairman.
Entitled "A 1985 American
Tribute to Israeli's Fashions,"
the show will feature the best of
Israel's haute couture - and
ready-to-wear plus a collection
of the best of American de-
signers' creations from North-
land's stores, including Hud-
son's, Scott Gregory, Ganto's,
Rodeo Drive, Casual Corner,
Anton's and Gingiss Formal
Wear.
Admission to the show is by a
minimum $500 Israel Bond in-
vestment in 1985.
Featured will be an assort-
ment of apparel created by Is-
rael's leading fashion per-
sonalities and by a number of
exciting new fashion talents.
The runway line up will include
clothes from such well-known
houses as Gottex, Gideon Ober-
son and Rikma swimwear;
Niba /Sixteen Plus and Honig-
man sportswear; Gabi-Model
and Helen Knits knitwear,
Tadmor leathers, and cottons
from. Biba. Among the new
manufacturers will be Gali
active sportswear, Donna Gay
and Berger casual wear; Glima
and Magic Touch "fun clothes,"
and Gingette leathers.
Among the designers are Is-
rael's top-flight style-makers
such as Gideon Oberson, Oded
Gera, Tamara Jones, and a new
face on the scene, Nilly Tvig.
Pairing the international
flavor of the Israeli collection

will be best of the fall collec-
tions of American designer fash-
ion houses such as Calvin Klein,
Perry Ellis, Ralph Lauren, Al-
bert Nipon and Anne Klein.
Both men's and women's fash-
ions will be shown.
Chairing the fashion show for
the Israel Bond Women's Di-
vision is Dr. Susan E. Harold. A
Franklin resident, Dr. Harold, a
physician in private practice
and affiliated with Sinai Hospi-
tal of Detroit, has been active
for several years in the Israel
Bonds Health Services Division
and is associate chairman of
that division.,

Jewish Network
Meeting Planned

A statewide convocation of the
Michigan Jewish Network is
scheduled for Oct. 27 from 10:30
a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Hilton
Hotel in Grand Rapids.
Natalie Pelavin, Flint Jewish
Federation president and net-
work chairman, said that
attendance at the convocation, is
by invitation.
Representives of the Jewish.
Community Council of Met-
ropolitan Detroit are coordinat-
ing the program and site ar-
rangements. Acting as Grand
Rapids network liaison is Susie
Konicov.
Israel's new Consul General to
the Midwest,. Ambaisador Zvi
Brosh, will meet with the convo-
cation delegates and conduct one
of three planned workshops.
Workshop topics include Is-
rael, Church /State Separation
and Public Relations. -
