Course To Begin

Rabbi Sherwin Wine will
begin a course on "The History
of the Jews" at 7:30 p.m. Mon-
day in the Birmingham Temple.
The two-year program is open
to members of the temple and
for a fee to guests. It will cover
Jewish history, Jewish culture
and the philosophy of Humanis-
tic Judaism.

Relief Effort

New York (JTA) — A mercy
airlift, sponsored by the Ameri-
can Jewish World Service
(AJWS) took off last week with
$750,000 worth of medical
supplies to drought and
starvation-ravaged Mozambique.
The mission, inspired by Dr.
Paul Epstein, a physician who
was the Chief of Medicine at
Central Hospital in Beira,
Mozambique in 1980, is the first
major medial relief effort of the
AJWS.
