NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS:

Phyllis Newman

merged with the South Oakland
Hadassah and the combined
group was called the Metropoli-
tan Detroit Chapter of Hadas-
sah. Its current official name is
the Greater Detroit Chapter of
Hadassah, and is headed by
President Diane Klein.
Mrs. Klein said the new build-
ing will provide the organization
with a central meeting place,
which the women have not had
since the sale of the Seven Mile
Road building. In addition, she
said, the building will "provide
us with visibility in the commu-
nity."
In the long run, the building
will be a boon for the future of
the local Hadassah body. "We
know we will be in this building
in decades to come," Mrs. Klein
said.
In addition to being a meeting
place for the women and Hadas-
sah Associates, the Davidson
Hadassah House will be a
gathering place for the local
chapter of the Hashachar,
Hadassah's youth movement.
Mrs. Hauser lauded the dona-
tion of the building to Hadas-
sah. She said the building pro-
vides the group with a home,
and it is "significant from a
geographical viewpoint," since
the Jewish community is mov-
ing toward the West
Bloomfield-Farmington Hills
area.
Other chapter officers are:
Vice President Coordinators:
Education, Marsha Kersch;
Fund-raising, Jo - an Pravizer;
Telethon, Faye Krut and Mari-
lyn Rickover; Membership, Mar-
jie Federman; Organization, Bea
Briener; Pool Facilitator, Mari-
lyn Ash; and Program, Maxine
Steiner.
Area Vice President, Barbara
Gutman, Peggy Shafir, Agnes
Klein, Marion Stein, Annette
Liberson and Susan Yorke.
The executive board also in-
cludes Treasurer, Harrilee She-
vin; Corresponding Secretary,
Doris August; Financial Secre-
tary, Billie Gaurn; Recording
Secretary, EUther Zisman.
Appointed members of execu-
tive committee Marjorie Saul-
son, Mrs. Newman, Edith Stone,
Lauren Bruss, Paulette Borin,
Mrs. Meskin and Sally Levine.
Members-at-Large are: Inge
Kramer, Susan Rose, Mrs.
Snider and Mrs. Winer.
Dedication proceedings will be
held outdoors. A reception will
follow.
