Rabbi Eli Apt

Rabbi Eli B. Apt has been
named assistant to the chaplain
at Sinai Hospital of Detroit.
Among his responsibilities are
patient visitation, counseling
and family support. In addition,
Rabbi Apt will continue to assist
with the execution of com-
prehensive hashkacha — dietary
kashruth supervision — in the
hospital's kosher kitchen.
He also is a religious coor-
dinator and resource contact for
all Sinai personnel.
Rabbi Apt has been associated
with Sinai since 1969. An
alumnus of Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah and Wayne State Uni-
versity, Rabbi Apt is currently
completing the requirements for
a master's degree in pastoral
counseling at the Hebrew
Theological College-Jewish Uni-
versity of America in Skokie, Ill.

Chaplain Blustein
Named to Post

Rabbi Allan M. Blustein,
Sinai Hospital of Detroit's direc-
tor of pastoral care, has been
named department chaplain for
the State of Michigan, 1985-
1986 term, by the American
Legion.
Rabbi Blustein has been re-
sponsible for pastoral care for
all faiths at Sinai since 1981.
Previously, the former Lieuten-
ant colonel served as a chaplain
in the United States Army for
22 years.
He received his master's de-
gree in pastoral counseling from
the Hebrew Theological
College-Jewish University of
America in Skokie, Ill., in 1983.
Rabbi Blustein also holds a
master's degree in public ad-
ministration from Baruch School
of Business in New York City.

Hospital Co-Hosts
Arthritis Class

Sinai Hospital of Detroit and
the Jewish Community Center
in West Bloomfield will co-
sponsor a series of arthritic
movement awareness classes.
A medical release is required
for class participation. There is
a fee.
To register or for information,
