The daily program is a rigor-
ous one. Following morning
*yeti, students turn to the
study of Jewish subjects. "From
nine in the morning unti one in
the afternoon, the college is a
Jewish studies center. During
these hours my classmates and I
break into small study groups
where we study Torahr Talreud -
and Jewish philosophy." This
schedule, Lehmann feels, has its
advantages as studies conducted
in small groups maximize the
educational experience and fos-
ter active learning in a friendly
atmosphere.
After lunch, the campus be-
comes a technological college,
with course offerings ranging
from electro-optics. tb integral
coleus. Secular and religious
studies are considered equally
important. According to
Ginzburg, "we want to influence
the students' character, we are
not )tu3t interested' 'in producing
technocrats."

coming year, 1986-1986, the
JCT will begin a fully accredited
one-year program for university
students and high school
graduates from around the
world. The classes will begin in
English and as the year con-
tinues, instruction will change
over to Hebrew. ' -
With a predicted shortage of
5,000 workers in the technologi-
cal fields in Israel by 1992, the
Jewish College of Technology
continues to serve the increas-
ing demand for trained high
technology professionals, and as
the great Rabbi Rebhan Gamliel
stated over 2,000 years ago, "It
is well to combine Torah study
with an occupation."

The college was founded in
1970 by Professor P. Lev, a
member of the Physics Depart;
ment at the Hebrew University,
and was established in order to
give the students the opportu-
nity to continue their Jewish
studies while pursuing a valu-
' able and challenging profes-
sional career. "JCT is geared to
produce a gentleman as well as
a student proficient in his
technological field. From: the
tradition we study work .ethics,
morals, human relations, and
learn how to apply them to
working in industry. Thus, we
learn not only how to work, but
how to work with others," says
