Dylon gave mom a bracelet watch ... and grandma a gold neckchain ... Was his own idea with Dylan being taken to Bruce Weiss Jewelers by Aunt Lisa Klein, here from Washing- ton, D.C. ... His very touching gesture came as a big surprise to Tina and•Jackie, whose eyes filled with tears of happiness. Some 150 attended as Tina wrote and conducted the candlelighting ceremony herself. Not because he gave mom and grandma surprise gifts ... not because he did such a good job on the bima at Livonia Jewish Congregation ... but because Dylan has grown up to be a fine young man ... Emigres to Get Early Education New York — The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Com- mittee (JDC) have joined forces in a program designed to help Ethiopian, Jewish mothers and their preschool children become part of Israeli society. The program, developed by re- searchers at the NCJW Re- search Institute for Innovation in Education at Hebrew Univer- sity in Jerusalem, will train the disadvantaged mothers to begin developing their children's intel- lectual ability at home, thereby preliaring them for Israeli schools. The program was funded with a $20,000 grant from the JDC. '
