Dinner Kicks Off
New Synagogue
A fund-raising dinner for the
refurbishing of the new home
for Cong. Bais Chabad of Far-
mington Hills will take place at
6:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at the
Lubavitch Education Center,
28555 Middlebelt, Farmington
Hills.
Rabbi Yitzchak Kagan will be
the guest speaker. Entertain-
ment will be provided by Yossi
Piamenta, an Israeli musician.
Proceeds from the dinner will
be used to finish the
synagogue's exterior, landscap-
ing and parking facilities. The
new synagogue is located at
32000 Middlebelt, Farmington
Hills.
The synagogue, Orthodox in
orientation, will be led by Rabbi
Chaim Bergstein, whose wife
Chaya Devorah, has been active
in teaching classes in the Or-
thodox community.
The congregation had its be-
ginning in the home of Dr. Ar-
nold and Joanne Zuroff, and
later moved to the Bergstein
home. Prior to buying its own
building, the congregation met
in the Lubavitch Education
Center, formerly Labor Zionist
Institute.
Plans are to have classes, a
daily minyan, room for children
to play and a meeting place for
the more traditional segment of
the Farmington Hills Jewish
population.

son of Council President Rabbi
