Ted Hochberg
Harold M. Taub, president of
the Windsor Jewish Community
Council, announced the ap-
pointment of Ted J. Hochberg as
chairman of the 1985 United
Jewish Appeal Campaign. Join-
ing Hochberg will be Mel Muroff
and Howard Sherman as Co
Chairmen.
Hochberg was born in Detroit
and moved to Windsor in 1941.
He attended Assumption Uni-
versity where he received a B.A.
degree. He received his LLB
from Osgoode Hall and was
called to the bar in 1962. He is
the senior partner of Hochberg,
Slopen. He was appointed
Queen's Counsel in 1975.

Sherman was born in Hamil-
ton, Ont. He attended Hamilton
public schools and was
graduated from the University
of Akron in Ohio with a B.S.C.
degree in business. He is the
general manager of J. Kovinsky
and Sons Limited. He has been
active in B'nai B'rith, being a
trustee of the Hamilton Lodge,
was a member of the Cong.

Muroff is a graduate of Ken-
nedy Collegiate. He attended
the University of Windsor where
he received his B.A. degree and
received his LLB from the Uni-
versity of Toronto in 1967. He
passed the bar exam with hon-
ors in 1969. He has been in the
practice of law in Windsor for 16
years in the field of commercial'
and corporate law.
He is the vice president of the
Windsor Chamber of Commerce
and active in the Downtown
Windsor Business Association.

The Jewish Parents Institute
begins its 1985-1986 educational
programs for children on Sun-
day. Opening day activities, in-
cluding organizational meetings
for parents, will be held in
Room 239 of the main Jewish
Community Center.
This year's Sunday school cur-
riculum includes holidays and
symbols, Bible stories and Bibli-
cal history, Jews around the
world, American Jewish His-
tory, Jewish life cycle, anti-
Semitism and the Holocaust,
and modern Jewish history.
Children age 3-13 are eligible to
attend.
J.P.I.'s b'nai mitzvah program
is beginning its second year.
This optional program includes
the study of Talmud and Torah
in English, selected literature, a
comprehensive research project,
and a 30-hour community serv-
ice commitment.
Membership applications will
be taken on Sunday at the J.P.I.
office at the main Jewish Cen-
ter.

Stuart A. Meyers, son of Lil-
lian and Leonard Meyers of
West Bloomfield, earned a Doc-
tor of Veterinary Medicine de-
gree at Michigan State Univer-
sity. He will practice in Hyde
Park, Vt.
