Following is a listing of Selichot services: ADAT SHALOM SYNAGOGUE: Dr. Bezalel Por- ten, associate professor of Jewish history at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, will speak at 10 p.m. Saturday on "The Book of Jonah — An Odys- sey of Repentance." The sister- hood and men's club will spon- sor a coffee and cake reception at 9:30 p.m. Services will begin at 11 p.m. Rabbi Efry Spectre will of- ficiate, and Cantor Larry Vieder will chant the liturgy. He will make three pre- sentations, all open to the pub- lic, on the overall theme, "The New Search for Jewish Spiritu- ality," which is his topic at 8 p.m. Sabbath services today. – His Saturday sermon at 11 a.m. will be on the theme "The Lord Brought Us to This Place." At Selichot services, scheduled for 11 p.m. Siturday, Rabbi Borowitz will address the' con- gregatiOn on "Two Modern Views of God — and Forgive- ness."
