Israel Navy seizes PLO
yachts in latest infiltration
attempts

Jerusalem (JTA) — A second
yacht seized by the Israel Navy off
the Lebanese coast last month car-
ried terrorists from an elite unit of
the Palestinian Liberation Organiza-
tion whose mission was to infiltrate
Israel from south Lebanon and kill
as many people as possible, Premier

Shimon Peres told reporters in
Jerusalem Monday.
The yacht, Ganda, intercepted
while enroute from Larnaca, Cyprus,
to south Lebanon, was carrying offi-
cers of Force 17, considered an elite
unit of the PLO especially close to
PLO chief Yassir Arafat. Two crew
members were Europeans, one Greek
and the other British.
The Ganda was the second ter-
rorist vessel seized by the Israel
