Jacob G. (Bud) Brown, vice president of the Brown-Dreifus Agency for ten years, died Aug. 26 at age 71. /Born in Detroit, Mr. Brown was a member of Temple Beth El. In 1965, he was a winner of the Port Huron to Mac- kinac boat 'race. He was a former Eagle Scout and received the Gold Palm Award. In 1929, he represented Detroit in the World Scout Jamboree in England. He was a member and former commander of the Great Lakes Yacht Club. Mr. Brown was a past president of the Michigan Chapter of the Society of Char-, tered Property and Casualty Underwriters. He also was a World War II veteran. He leaves his wife, Miriam; two sons, Stephen of Illinois and Roger of California; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Coatta; three sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Norma) Cohen of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. John (Ruth Joy) Kent of Pennsyl- vania and Mrs. Archie (Mar- garet Edith) McCardell of Con- necticut; and two grandchildren. Dr. H.M. Podolsky Heritage Hospital and was former chief of family medicine at Outer Drive Hospital, He was a founding member of the Oakwood Hospital staff. Dr, Podolsky was a member of the Wayne County Medical Society, American Medical Society, Michigan State Medical Society, Cong. Shaarey Zedek and Per- fection Lodge of the Masons.
