The eve- ning will include Sabbath songs and a traditional meal, catered by Paul Kohn, who also will oversee a special Sabbath luncheon. Tour guides will be on the buses and on hand at the site when delegates visit the Holocaust Memorial Center. Miriam and Fred Ferber are overseeing the visit, plan- ning to "make sure it is meaningful." The couple has arranged for Rabbi Charles Rosenzveig, HMC director, to greet the delegates and Sis- ter Carol Rittner of Mercy College, who is active in Holocaust education, will be a guest speaker. There also will be a small ceremony, which will include the sing- ing of the El Moleh Rachamim. A special Israeli menu and Israeli colors will highlight the Sept. 7 dinner, according to chairman D. ban Kahn. He said an aim of the dinner is to introduce the delegates from all over North America. Volunteers also have been drafted to fill "survival bags" for the delegates' comfort. The bags include Band Aids, crossword puzzles,. gum, songsheets, aspirin and aspi- rin coupons, lollipops, Israeli candy and pre-moistened hand towels. Despite the obvious tasks of the committees, their ul- timate aim is to show that Detroit is not such a bad place after all, according to Schubot and Mrs. Stollman. "Detroit has had hard times, and it doesn't have a marvelous reputation for safety. We want to impress people how nice Detroit can be," Mrs. Stollman said. In addition, the conference is about Israel, the promo- tion of business for Israel and its industrial develop- ment, Schubot emphasized. He said the conference will focus on how important Bonds are to Israel's de- velopment and it will provide delegates with a forum to discuss the problems of rais- ing investment dollars for Bonds in their respective cities. Mrs. Stollman said she hoped the conference will produce a greater local later- set In straggibmbss tom boat Israel wade the { dollar so daspeadely sae
