Minyanim Form
In North Areas
In order to promote Shabbat ob-
servance, Baia Chabad Torah
Center of West Bloomfield an-
nounces the formation of two
"satellite minyanim"
one in
Bloomfield Township and one in
Bloomfield Hills.
These are geared to the needs of
those who wish to walk to the
synagogue on the Shabbat in
these areas.
The minyanim are presently
being conducted by Rabbis
Yitzchok M. Kagan and
Yerachmiel Rabin of the
Lubavitch Foundation. A kiddush
is served after the services, and
study groups are also available
throughout the day.

New Congregation
In Walled Lake
Rabbi Philip Blachorsky,
former spiritual leader of Cong.
B'nai Israel of West Bloomfield,
has founded a new congregation,
Temple Chai J.C.C.O.I.
The new congregation will meet
at the Crossroads Presbyterian
Church, 1445 Welch Rd., Walled
Lake.
The congregation will com-
mence with High Holiday services
at 9 a.m. Sept. 16 and 17. All are
invited.

Folk Concert
At B'nai Moshe
The Cong. B'nai Moshe Cul-
tural Commission will present a
concert by folksinger Judy Golds-
tein 8 p.m. Thursday at the
synagogue.
The concert will feature selec-
tions in English, Hebrew, Yiddish
and Russian and will include a
number of special children's selec-
tions during the first half.
The concert is open to the public
for a nominal charge. Refresh-
ments will be served. For infor-

Rabbi Conducts
Open Forum
Rabbi Sherwin Wine will de-
'scribe the philosophy behind
Humanistic Judaism and the pro-
grams of the Birmingham Temple
during "Evening with the Rabbi"
8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the tem-
ple, 28611 W. 12 Mile Road, Far-
mington Hills.
The informal program is free
and open to the public.
