strongly denounce this evil
and highly objectionable act
and will take all the legal
measures necessary to ap-
prehend the perpetrator or
perpetrators and offer them
to justice."
Meanwhile, Abdel Raouf
el-Reedy, the Egyptian Am-
bassador to the United
States, Tuesday night con-
demned the attack on the Is-
raeli official. Speaking on
ABC-TV's Nightline pro-
gram, the ambassador said
that such an act would not
disrupt the ongoing peace
talks between Egypt and Is-
rael.
Peres said he was sure the
Egyptians would do every-
thing to find the attackers.
The Foreign Ministry in
Jerusalem expressed appre-
ciation at the measures
being taken by the Egyp-
tians to track down the as-
sailants.
The Egyptian government
denounced the attack and
pledged to do all it can "with'
regard to this heinous assas-
sination." According to re-
ports from Cairo, police had
a witness who said he re-
membered the license plate
on the gunman's car. Secu-

rity police were deployed i n
the area near the shooting,
all armed with automatic
weapons. Police security also
was tightened at the Cairo
Airport and checks were
being made at all exit points
from the country.
The identity of the assail-
ant was not immediately
known, and Arab and Egyp.
tian affairs experts say it
could have been a member of
any one of a number of Arab
or Moslem organizations, in.
eluding Palestinians and
right-wing Moslem fun-
damentalists, or groups in-
terested in sabotaging the
peace process.
In Washington, the State
Department, in expressing
regret at the assassination of
the Israeli diplomat, said it
sees the terrorist act as de-
railing the Middle East

peace process.

Department
deputy
spokesman Charles Redman
said that while the U.S, has
no direct evidence "the cir-
cumstances are such however
— the parties, the timing —
that it clearly appears to be
an effort at slowing down,
impeding the peace process.",

A very revealing claim that
"the Nazis liked nothing better

than to play God," and therefore
as many as half a million may
have escaped the crematoria, is
revealed in a data-filled book
pointing to one such element in
the tragic Hitler era.
Jewish News contributor Alan
Abrams, in Special Treatment;
The Untold Story of Hitler's
Third Race (Lyle Stuart), as-

serts that many people who
were in the mixed marriages
group were granted the right to
live by the Nazis, He maintains
that Mischlinas were one ele-
ment that escaped the terror of
the _Holocaust,
The children of mixed mar-
riages were termed the Mil-
chlinge. They were the third
race referred to that escaped the
terror as this so-called
be-
tween the pure Aryans race
and the
doomed Jews, They were viewed
as mongrels. The vase histories
in Abrams' book provide
analses of escapisn) by the
of "mixed" marriages,

It is apparent from the studio
conducted by Abrams that Nazis
acting sanctimoniously provided
succor for an element that gave
them reason to pose in godli-
ness.
The Mischlinge failed to ac,
