business with clip-on earrings," says
Devorah Senkman, of Devorah's in
West Bloomfield. In fact, she sells more
clip-ons than pierced earrings.
Belts are still being used to finish an
outfit. Devorah's line of belts runs the
gamut from simple buckle belts to
snakeskin and studded belts. Esther
and Estelle's has "waist bracelets"
which are hard belts framed with metal.
They fit tightly around the waist, and in-
side of frame are a collage of colors.
According to Arlene Singer,
manager of Baggit, there are many
new looks in handbags this fall. New
colors are mustard yellow, hunter
green and plum.
"We are selling large and small bags
according to the proportionate size of
the lady wearing them," says Singer.
There are just as many small clutch
bags in the new colors as large

shoulder bags.
New looks include leather bags em-
bossed with patterns, and multi-colored
tapestry bags. Baggit also has some
long, rectangular shoulder bags with
snaps and buckles in bright colors like
cobalt blue and shocking pink.
"Another new look is the Drury
bag," says Singer. These bags have
a frame with a handle, and come in
small and medium sizes.
Snakeskins, wovens and lizard bags
are still fashionable. "We have an ex-
clusive line from Italy," remarks Singer.
Esther and Estelle's has pressed skin
bags in bright red and yellow.
Evening handbags tend to be glit-
tery. They are coated with rhinestones,
beads and pearls. Small miniaudiers
shimmer in silver, bronze and gold;
some are decorated with sequins or
jewels, and one resembles a mirror.
