will feature violin virtuoso, Flo-
rian ZaBach, and one of Israel's
foremost singing-stars Ruthi
Navon.
Born in Paris, France, and the
youngest of 16 children, Clary
began singing professionally at
age 12. His climb to stardom
started in 1947 when he re-
corded a song which became an
instant "hit" in the United
States, selling 250,000 copies.
The record brought Clary to
America to perform in night-
clubs, but he soon branched out
into the Broadway stage, movies
and television.
He starred in such stage suc-
cesses as New Faces, La Pume
de Ma Tante, Cabaret and the
musical version of Around the
World in 80 Days. His screen
credits include Ten Tall Men,
The Thief of Damascus, A New
Kind of Love and many others.
On television, he was featured
in the Colgate Comedy Hour,
The Meru Griffin Show, and
more recently, in Hogan's
Heroes.
ZaBach is an accomplished
musician, who is also „ID
humorist. The Israeli singing
star, Ruthi Navon, has appeared

WRITE US IN THE BOOK OF LOVE

We stood quietly, side by side,
Under the sacred canopy (Chuppa),
Both of us looking eagerly
At each other.
What was going thru her mind,
Here in God's holy temple?
I knew what my heart
Was saying,
Here, before the God of
My forefathers,
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
I had chosen this glorious maiden
To be my partner - for life,
Or was it the other way around?
"For as long as you both shall live."

Long before we plunged into
This ritualistic requirement
Our hearts had reached
Out to each other in depth
And in love,
To the words of our beloved
Rabbi
I listened eagerly.
Finally; "By the power vested
In me -
I wished he had transferred
Just a small bit of this power
To me and my shaky legs,

LOCAL NEWS

When I returned from overseas
As I was transferred (Flight Surgeon)

To the ground forces.

There were 1,100 nurses (training)
And only 20 officers.
This put a high premium on my
Of duty hours.

There was something about
This girl
I kept coming back to, week after week.

Then the Army sent her to Mayo General,
In Illinois.
A month later I was sent there.
I was sure this was pure happenstance.
I felt sure the Army had more
Important things to do -
Like fighting a war.
So we both eagerly picked up the
Broken threads.
I never really lost track of her.
One month later Eva was sent to
Percy Jones Hospital, in Battle Creek.
Almost to the month, I followed.
It was inevitable. I was also sent
To Battle Creek.
Now, for the first time, I felt sure
We were going to win the war.
The Army and their generals were
"Right On!"

They knew &wetly what they
Were doing,
I proposed,
You can't fight the whole
11,8, Army,
After all, we were both
On the same side,
We obtained a civil license
At Marshall, Michigan,

Later, to make it absolutely official,

We wanted a 'hotel, religious oremony.
The groat scholar, Rabbi Adler,
Married as after a rather
Thorough interview,
I brought ha poi) my fold,
I ais, and dal au, an Orthodox lot,

in nightclubs, musicals and the
concert stage. She made her
Broadway debut in Don't Step
on My Olive Branch. Mack Pitt
and his orchestra will provide
the musical interludes and ac-
companiment.

Maurice Croll

As Rabbi Adler finished his last
Ceremonial words,
I looked up to heaven and
Automatically offered my own prayer:
Please, Oh Lord, write us
Into the Eternal Book of Love,
(Which must be renewed afresh
Every year.)

Who knows for sure when two people,
Male and female,
Unite as one - for all time. (My view)
What turbulent waters we
' Would go through - the vast unknown
Future.
The Talmud puts it that each
Happy patringaff
Is as difficult for the Almighty
As the parting of the Red Sea.
Love and marriage
Lie in the heart.

Every year - at Rosh Hashanah Yom Kippur -
and in the Ten Days of Repentance

We pray, Oh, so earnestly;
Oh, Lord, write us in the Book of Life,
It came t42 me almost instantly
Under the Chuppa.
Write us, also, in the Book of 'Lae,
And for 88 holy years we now add
In unison, as my
Glorious maiden still
Stands at my side in,the Temple,
Oh, Lord, write us in the Book of Love,
