Steven Beale will share his
bar mitzvah with Mikhail
Goltzman of Moldavian SSR,
USSR, at Rosh Chodesh services
Sunday at Cong. Beth. Achim.
Steven, the son of Jerome,and
Gail Beale, wishes to dramatize
the plight of his twin who is un-
able to be called to the Torah in
the Soviet Union.
Mikhail was 13 on Thursday
and is the son of Buma and
Mara Goltzman. His family first
applied to emigrate and was re-
fused in January 1977. No rea-
son was given for the refusal of
an exit visa for the family.
Currently, Mikhail has
grandparents and an aunt in Is-
rael.

Grubman, daughter of Gennedy
and. Emilya Grubman of
Kharahov, Russia, will under-
score American religious free-
dom and the struggle of Soviet
Jews to attain religious and per-
sonal freedoms when the bat
mitzvah is observed on Aug. 24
at Cong. Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses in West Bloomfield.
The Grubmans have been re-
fused an exit visa from Russia
on the pretext of insufficient
kinship in spite of requests from
an aunt of Grubman's in Israel.
After filing immigration papers,
both Grubman and his wife lost
their jobs and face an uncertain
future.
Betsy is the daughter of
Judith and Gerald Share of
West Bloomfield and
granddaughter of Martin and
Libbie Share and Charles and
Ruth Rader, all of Southfield.

being re-appointed to the Mac-
kinac Island State Park Com-
mission. Ellmann was appointed
to the commission in 1979 by
Gov. William Milliken, and has
served the last tiro years as
chairman.
Gov, James Blanchard's office
asked Ellmann to step down be-
cause he is chairing a second
state commission, the Michigan
Employment Relations Commis-
sion. The MERC post is a
salaried appointment.
