are great ... no membranes on
the back ... no fat ... all uni-
form size ... so very tender and
meaty ... basted with regular
or hickory sauce ... or if re-
quested, served dry with sauce
on the side.
And the crunchy cole slaw,
not overly seasoned, comes in
small heavy plastic bowls in-
stead of those nonsense paper
cups we've always despised.
If our waitress, Chris Moore,
is any indication of the new
service wave that Big John has
instilled with his daily meet-
ings, things are looking up very
high ... Effervescent Chris with
the beautiful smile showing her
gleaming white teeth is so
pleasant, efficient and courteous
. going from booth to booth in
her station making certain ev-
erything is alright.
And when was the last time
you enjoyed ribs with a cloth
napkin to wipe your hands?
Another big plus for Bloomies
. and it's to your health ...
No MSG (monosodium gluta-
mate) and no sodium ... is used
on the vegetables to make them
look or seem fresh ... Being
fresh, they don't need camouf-
laging anyway ... It's nice that
the owners of Bloomies are sen-
sitive to the concerns of custom-
ers who may be allergic to MSG
or sulfates ... Neither are used
at their restaurant.
So many people enjoying
Bloomies these days ... Burt
Duchin celebrating his birthday
with a group ... Iz and Fran
Malin making it their two-
times-a-week place to go ... Dr.
Sidney Z. and Marion Leib tak-

The saga of Bloomies con-
tinues ... with its story getting
better and better ... Friction
created by former manager plus
supposed lack of restaurant
know-how has been replaced
with experience ... Big John
Mechlenborg now carries the
ball for Bloomies enroute to
what many hope will be a
touchdown.

and tables ... Folks serve them-
selves cafeteria-style with reg-
ular silverware ... not throw-
away plastic as thought by some

ago is Shirley Harris.
THE FREE-STANDING
building on W. Nine Mile, east
of Coolidge, was first built as
Saxon's, then it became Dimit-
ri's and Alexander's ... But the
newest tennant, Ronal's,• prob-
ably has' the best chance of all

to make a go of this locale
So confident in fact are Jim and
wife Alia (Ah-Leah) Sage, that
they are not just mere rentees
