Paul Borman, president of the
Jewish Home for Aged, has an-
nounced the appointment of Dr.
Dennis A. Robbins as director of
the LeVine Institute on Aging
in Detroit.
The privately-endowed insti-
tute recently was established
through the LeVine Foundation,
spearheaded by Stella LeVine.
The LeVine Institute was
founded in memory of David M.
and Frieda G. LeVine and their
to, -is, Saul and Dan LeVine, and
is tkdicated to applied research,
educrtion and training relevant
to the needs of older people liv-
ing in institutional as well as
non-iwititut;onal settings.
The :nstiti.te is affiliated with
such organizations as Michigan
State University, the University
of Michigan, Wayne State Uni-
versity and George Washington
University, to name a few.
Dr. Robbins received his Ph.D.
degree from Boston College and
his Master of Public Health de-
gree from Harvard, where he
was the National Fund for Med-
ical Education Fellow in the
Kennedy Interfaculty Program
in Medical Ethics. He also
worked closely with the division
of geriatrics at Harvard Schools
of Medicine and Public Health.
He has been on the faculties
of Harvard, Boston University

Before accepting his new post,
Dr. Robbins was director of a
graduate program in health
services administration. He has
done extensive post-doctoral
work in medical ethics and
health law, oriented specifically
toward issues facing the elderly
and their families, and has
worked with the federal gov-
ernment and several national
associations in the health policy
arena. Dr. Robbins has pub-
lished extensively; he has writ-
ten books, contributed several
chapters in other texts.
