50th Anniversary
Cantor and Mrs. Hyman J.
(Ruth) Adler of Southfield and
North Miami Beach, Fla., were
honored at a kiddush and recep-
tion recently at Cong. B'nai David
on the occasion of their 50th wed-
ding anniversary.
Max Sosin was the master of
ceremonies, and an original pro-
gram was presented, written by
the couple's daughter, Priscilla
Bachaiov.
The couple was called up to the
bimah for a renewal of their wed-
ding vows. Rabbi Morton F. Yol-
kut officiated, and a prayer for the
couple chanted by their son Can-
tor Asher Adler.
The senior Adlers' children are
Priscilla and David Bachaiov of
Southfield, Shana and Shlomo
Duben of Southfield, Haskell and
Barbara Adler of Southfield and
Cantor Asher and Sherrill Adler
of Oak Park.
Their grandchildren are Claire
and Allan Epstein; Mark, Abby
and Sherri Bachaiov; Sara and
Debbi Duben, Vivvian, Aneke
and Marni Adler; and Carrie and
Steven Adler. Great-grand-
children are Carli and Aaron Eps-
tein.
Out-of-town guests on hand to
help the couple celebrate were:
the cantor's sisters Mrs. Shoshana
Rosenbaum of Los Angeles, Calif.,
and Mrs. Hannah Adler of New
York City; Mr. and Mrs. Berle
(Gozella) Bonner of Long Island,
N.Y.; Mrs. David (Shirley) Stein-
berg of the Bronx, N.Y.; and Mr.

The luncheon was attended by
family and friends with out of
town guests from California and
Toronto, Canada. In addition to
the immediate family, more than
60 relatives and friends attended.
Added reason for the celebra-
tion was the graduation of the
couple's eldest granddaughter,
Susan Lerner, from Michigan
State University.
To commemorate the anniver-
sary, a garden of trees has been
established in the State of Israel.
