women married for the first time
was 18 or 19 ... Today, it is 25 to
30, according to Ruth ... In the
local area, some brides are even
older, some in their middle 30s.
Leo as a masculine bridal con-
sultant and good sensse of humor,
has many interesting stories to re-
late about his work in a bridal
salon ... Ruth was a corporate
training representative at J.L.
Hudson's . . . moving on to become'
the bridal salon director at Saks
Fifth Avenue.
Their new 5,000 square feet
locale is elegantly designed in soft
rose pinks and beige ... carrying
everything from new sophisti-
cated looks for mother in celebra-
tion gowns collection to even
arty dresses for guests.
FEEDING OVER 1,000
eople and still having the food
ate good . . . and hot ... is a fine
rt . . . Many caterers can do this
ecause they're trained so . . . But
or restaurateurs, it's almost a
racle.
This happened recently when
Yahia Mawri and Dale Ostertag
ad grand opening for their Red
evil East on Moravian and Gar-
eld ... They're partners in the
ast side operation . . . Yahia re-
ns sole ownership of the Red
evil on Fenkell east of Green-
eld.
The new Red Devil East seats
bout 220 . . . and people kept
oming and coming . . . to eat
feces of pizza, veal marsala,
hicken cacciatore, lasagna,
alad, mostaccioli and those great
d Devil garlic bread sticks.
Even the waitresses were won-
erful ... Hard to imagine them
eing gracious when over 1,000
ungry people swoop down upon
hem . . . However, ifeur waitress,
heryl Van Huylenbrouck, is any
ndication, Yahia and Dale have
ery little to worry about serv-
cewise . . . She's so efficient,
ourteous and personable.Red
evil East will be run by Dale and
is wife Sue.
