Steven Safran, Deborah Siegel, Laurie Silverman and Amy Goldstein were the scholarship recipients, Miss Goldstein, a Uni- versity of Michigan honor stu- dent, received the ZOA's Philip and Anna Slomovits Scholarship grant for a one-year study pro- gram at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Other Michigan students who did not receive scholarships but are participating in the Summer in Israel program of MaSada, the youth movement of the ZOA, are; Michael Cohen, Midland; Michael Komorn, Jeffrey Mayer and Rachel Schwartz, all of South- field; Michael Ruskin and Samuel Shanbom, Farmington Hills; Wayne Segal, West Bloomfield; and Jonathan Siegel and Daniel Vater, Flint, Sidney Silverman, a member of ZOA's national administrative board and former district president is chairman of the scholarship fund of Metro Detroit ZOA. Masada offers teenagers and college students several different summer programs in which to participate.
