Southfield is sponsoring Sun-
day Funday, an annual summer
festival for local non-profit
organizations, on Aug. 11 in the
Southfield Civic Center outdoor
plaza. The day is designed to
help the groups raise money.
Southfield is also seeking vol-
unteers for the Southfield Civil
Defense, which involves helping
police and firemen. Training
classes begin this summer.
The registration deadline for
Funday is Monday. For informa-

The Jewish Community Cen-
ter's Toastmasters Club has an-
nounced the winners of its first
tall-tale contest.
They are: Sam Fenton, first
place; Leon Linderman, second
place; and Steve Fligman and
Darell Yee, honorable mention.
Linderman will represent the
Center Toastmasters at the
regional competition.
The group , will meet at 7:30
p.m. Tuesday in room 239 at the
main Jewish Center. The topic
will be drug abuse.
