Film Festival will begin Aug. 11
at the Southfield,Lathrup High
School auditorium.
The film festival is sponsored
by the Labor Zionist Alliance
National Committee for Labor
Israel-Histadrut, Labor Zionist
Institute and Habonim Labor
Zionist Youth.
The film schedule is as fob;
lows: Aug. 11, Burning Lands;
Aug. 21, God, Man and Devil;
and Aug. 26, Return to Vienna.

oseph H. Jackier received an
onorary fellowship from the
echnion — Israel Institute of
echnology at a special award
eremony at the university's
aifa campus during a convoca-
ion of the Technion's interna-
ional board of governors.
The Technion bestowed the
onor on Jackier "in recognition
of his outstanding leadership
and longtime efforts on behalf of
the institution."
Jackier has assumed leader-
ship positions on behalf of
Technion, Bar-Ilan University
and the Jewish Theological
Seminary. He was the first
president of Jewish Federation
Apartments and now serves on
its board of directors. Elected
president of United Jewish
Charities in 1975, he is now di-
rector of the United Jewish
Charities and Endowment Fund
Program and is a governor of
the Jewish Welfare Federation.
He serves as well on the Sinai
Hospital board, is a past board
member of Cong. Shaarey
Zedek, and former secretary and
board member of the Jewish
Community Center.
