Walter Shapero
Walter Shapero will receive
the American Jewish Commit-
tee's Human Rights Medallion
7:15 p.m. Thursday at Temple
Beth El at the dinner and an-
nual meeting of the Detroit
Chapter. The dinner will be ad-
dressed by Dr. Marc Tanen-
baum, AJC's national director of •
international relations, and
Theodore Ellenoff of New York,
chairman of the board of gover-
nors, will present the award.
There will be a special
cocktail reception at 6 p.m. for
the Appeal for Human Relations
preceding the dinner. Call the

Shapero is a past president of
the Detroit Chapter of the
American Jewish Committee
and member of its national
board of governors. -
Currently a chapter - adviser
and member of the national
legal committee, he led the
chapter's pioneering "executive
suite" discimination program. A
current trustee and member of
the executive committee of
Temple Beth El, he has held the
offices of treasurer, vice
president and president.
Shapero is active with local
and state bar associations.
