m-f 10-6,

Pictured at the bloodmobile dedication, are, from left: Dr. Harold A.
Maxmen, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Silverfarb, Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Silverfarb, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Young, Dr. Andrea Mames,
Bernard Edelman and Dr. and Mrs. John J. Mames.

At a recent dedication cere-
mony, a fully equipped blood-
mobile was donated to Magen
David Adorn (MDA), Israel's
emergency medical, blood and
ambulance service, by Grant
and Betty Silverfarb, Louis and
Dora Silverfarb, Bernard Edel-
man and Harry and Emma
Young.

The gift was made in honor of
Dr. and Mrs. John J. Mames "in
recognition of their unstinted ef-
forts and devotion given to
American Red Magen David for
Israel (ARMDI) and in gratitude
for the recovery of Betty Silver-
farb and John Mames from
surgery."

Magen David Adorn coonL-
nates the regular supply and
rapid transport of blood and

blood products to hospitals
throughout Israel.
MDA provides all of the blood
and blood derivatives (like fresh
frozen plasma, thrombocyte con-
centrates normal serum albumin
immune serum globulin and
cryo-precipitates) for the medi-
cal services of the Israel Defense
Forces and more than 85 per-
cent of the country's blood re-
quirements.
Modern, completely equipped
bloodmobiles make possible col-
lection of blood in outlying
areas, industrial plants, kibbut-
zim, villages where there are no
blood collection centers.
Dr. Harold Maxmen, treasurer
of the Michigan Region, ARMDI
presented Pikuach Nefesh
awards to the honorees and the
contributors.
