Prof. Eidelman
Prof. Arthur I. Eidelman will
be the guest speaker at the an-
nual scholarship luncheon to
benefit the school of nursing at
the Shaare Zedek Hospital in
Jerusalem at noon June 25 at
the Summit Apts. club house.
Prof. Eidelman has headed
the neonatology department at
Shaare Zedek Hospital since his
aliyah in August 1978 with his
wife and four children. Before
coming to Israel, he was director
of newborn services and assis-
tant director of pediatrics at the
Hospital of the Albert Einstein
College of Medicine in New
York for nearly ten years and
also was associate professor of
pediatrics at the Albert Einstein
College of Medicine.
He is a graduate of Yeshiva
College where he received two
bachelor's degrees, one in bi-
ology and one in Hebrew litera-
ture, and is a graduate of the
Albert Einstein College of
Medicine.
He received his pediatric and
neonatal training at Yale Uni-
versity. Prcr. Eidelman is listed
as the 90th person in America
certified in neonatal/perinatal
medicine — one of a select
group of highly specialized
pediatricians.
Prof. Eidelman is an examiner
of the Israel Board of Pediatrics
and Israel Board of Obstetrics
and Gynecology and is the
chairman of the Israel
Neonatology Association.
He is also a member of the
European Society for Pediatric
Research, Israel Society of Criti-
cal Care Medicine and a fellow
of the American Academy of
Pediatrics. From 1980 to 1982
he served as medical director of
the Shaare Zedek Medical Cen-
ter.
Mrs. Pearl Nosanchuk is the
honorary chairman. Mrs. Julius
Feigelman and Mrs. Donald
Sharfman are co-chairmen.
The luncheon will be the occa-
sion to inaugurate a three-year
program to provide scholarships
for the class beginning in 1985.
