Mildred Gottdank

Prof. Mildred Gottdank, a
member of nursing faculty at
Wayne State University and an
active member of the Michigan
Board of Nursing, Michigan
League for Nursing, the Michi-
gan State Nurses' Association
and the National League for
Nursing, is retiring after 34
years of service to the univer-
sity.
Prof. Gottdank, who joined the
nursing faculty as an assistant
professor and director of the
psychiatric nursing program in
1951, has devoted her life to im-
proving nursing education. She
is currently chairperson of the
Psychiatric-Mental Health.
Nursing Department and has
directed two major National In-
stitute of Mental Health train-
ing programs.
During her career, Prof.
Gottdank has served as a Roc-
kefeller Foundation consultant
to the University of Ibadan,
Nigeria in the development of
post basic nursing education. In
1977, she was honored by WSU
with its Excellence in Teaching
Award and was named Out-
standing Psychiatric Mental
Health Nurse of Michigan in
1984.

Speaker Planned
For Reception

Rabbi Leib Krupenia, Rosh
Yeshiva of the Kamenitzer
Yeshiva in New York and
member of the board of gover-
nors of Chinuch Atzmai, will be
the guest speaker at the 18th
annual reception of the Greater
Detroit committee for Chinuch
Atzmai-Torah schools for Israel.
The reception will be held 8:15
p.m. Tuesday at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin Berlin, 18251
Onyx, Southfield.
The Chinuch Atzmai-Torah
Schools, in their fourth decade
with more than 40,000 children
and a- staff of 3,000 in 205
schools, brings religious and
secular education into every
area of settlement. Each school
provides Torah guidance for
children, their families, and the
community.
The chairman of the evening
will be Max Carmen. Honorary
chairmen are Rabbi Leib Bakst
and Rabbi Leizer Levin.
