Deitch Dr. Gil AlRoy, Mideast Expert New York — Dr. Gil Carl Al- Roy, a professor of political sci- ence at Hunter College who wrote extensively on Arab-Jewish rela- tions in the Middle East, died in New York Sunday. He was 60. Dr. AlRoy was born in Czer- nowitz, Romania. He escaped from the Doaga concentration camp during World War II dres- sed as a German soldier and emi- grated to Israel following the war. He came to the United States in 1954, where he eventually settled in Guttenberg, N.J. Dr. AlRoy graduated from City College of New York in 1959 and earned a doctorate in political sci- ence from Princeton University in 1951. His books included Behind the Middle East Conflict (1975) and The Kissinger Experience (1975).
