Ivan Bloch is chairman of the
dinner committee for the Jewish
National Fund's testimonial to
Irving and Florence Hermelin
slated to take place 6 p.m. June 19
at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
The Hermelins will be honored
with the Keter Shem Tov Award,
and a recreational project in Is-
rael bearing their names will be
established.
Bloch serves on the interna-
tional board of Israel Bonds,- is
president of the Prime Ministers
Club for Israel Bonds; is member-
ship chairman for the Holocaust
Memorial Center; is a trustee of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek, is chair-
man of the special fund-raising
committee for the congregation
and is a trustee of the Michigan
Cancer Foundation.
Bloch also is president of
AKIM, the organization which
provides care for retarded chil-
dren living in Israel. He also
serves on the B'nai B'rith Na-
tional Humanitarian Committee.
In 1983, Bloch received the State
of Israel Peace Medal.
Bloch also is affiliated with the
Central Finance Committee of the
Democratic Party; the Demo-
cratic President's Club; the Na-
tional Arts Caucus; Archives of
American Art; Michigan Film,
Television and Recording Arts
Advisory Council; Detroit Insti-
tute of Arts Founders Society; the
Michigan Opera Theater.
Co-chairmen of the dinner are:
Paul Borman, Sue Ellen Eisen-
berg, Martin R. Goldman, David
B. Holtzman, Irving Laker, Roger
H. Leemis, Ed Levy, Jr., Irving
