Super Everyday Low Price Rabbi Amy Eilberg Rabbi Amy Eilberg, the first woman to be ordained a rabbi at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, will address the Adat Shalom Sisterhood installation luncheon at noon June 10 at Adat Shalom. The day will begin with services at 10:30 a.m. Rabbi Eilberg was graduated from Brandeis University, where she earned a degree in Judaic studies, and Smith College, where she earned a master's degree in social work. A native of Philadelphia, her home now is Bloomington, Ind., where she is a chaplain for the Methodist Hospital in In- dianapolis and a community rabbi for that city's Jewish Welfare Federation. Dorothy Chaiken, a past president of the Michigan Branch of the Women's League for Con- servative Judaism, will be the in- stalling officer. The rabbi's keyn- ote address, "Women in Judaism: New Challenges," will follow the luncheon. Babysitting and luncheon will be provided for all pre-schoolers. Everyone is invited. Reservations are required. For reservations by June 6, call the synagogue office, 851-5100. Campaign Budgeting Process Begun Over the next few weeks, the Jewish Welfare Federation's four budgeting and planning divisions will decide the best way to allo- cate Allied Jewish Campaign pro- ceeds between domestic and over- seas beneficiaries. The process, which began in March with the Town Meeting on Budget Priorities, will culminate with the Federation board of gov- ernors meeting on June 18. Last month, the executive committee and board of governors approved a local-overseas division of funds raised in the 1985 Cam- paign. Based on a projected achieve- ment of $22.2 million, the board recommended allocating $11,931,000 for Israel and over- seas agencies, and $7,868,000 for local and national beneficiaries. This represents an increase of $1.7 million over the 1984 Allied Jewish Campaign. More than 60 beneficiaries — 20 of them in Detroit — will re- ceive funding from Campaign proceeds.
