Southfield Councilwoman
Vicki Goldbaum has announced
her candidacy for mayor of South-
, field. Goldbaum has been on the
Southfield City Council for the
past eight years.
She is a Wayne State Univer-
sity alumna with a degree in art
education. She is a former
teacher, having taught in Detroit
Public Schools for four years.
Goldbaum is a life member of
B'nai B'rith and the National
Council of Jewish Women as well
as a member of Hadassah and the
Southfield Zonta organization.
3 She is a recipient of numerous
Southfield community service
awards.
Goldbaum is a past vice
president of the Southfield Histor-
ical Society. She has been South-
field's city historian, writing
three books on the history of the
city (all three are catalogued with
the Library of Congress).
She has been elected chairman
of Michigan Municipal League
Women in Municipal Govern-
ment and first vice chairman of
the National League of Cities
Women in Municipal Govern-
ment.
Goldbaum is a representative
on the National League of Cities
Economic Development Policy
Committee and the Michigan
Municipal League's transporta-
tion committee. On the Southfield
City Council, she has served as
chairman of the boards and corn-
missions committee, legislative
chair, finance committee chair as
well as serving on the city's site
plan, transportation and goals-
objectives committees.
