B'nai B'rith Women Interna-
tional President Beverly Davis of
Jamaica, N.Y., will address the
delegates of the East Central
Region at their annual spring con-
ference May 31-June 2 at the
Marriott Inn, Ann Arbor.
Mrs. Davis has been a member
of BBW for more than 35 years.
During that period, she has been
very active in service projects in
the United States and in Israel,
including fund raising for the
very successful BBW Children's
Home and Group House — resi-
dential treatment centers for
emotionally disturbed children
located in a suburb of Jerusalem,
Israel.
Mrs. Davis represented BBW in
Paris in July 1984 at a major con-
ference convened jointly by BBW
and the Anti-Defamation League
of B'Nai B'rith on "The Woman's
Movement: The Road to Nairobi."
In other BBW positions, Mrs.
Davis has served as a BBW non-
governmental representative to
the United Nations; as member-
ship chair; as a member of the al-
locations and budget committees;
and on the Hillel, Career and
Counseling, and B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization Commis-
sions.
Honored as a Woman of
Achievement by the Anti-
Defamation League of B'nai
B'rith, Mrs. Davis continues to
serve on the ADL Commission,
and was elected to its national
executive committee. She is vice
chairman of the ADL Women's
Division and a member of the New
York ADL Regional and Execu-
tive Boards. She received the
William S. Stachenfeld Award
from the B'nai B'rith Career and
Counseling Service.
The State of Israel honored Mrs.
Davis with its Shalom Award for
her sale of Israel Bonds;
Linda Garfield, regional
chairman, has appointed Eadie
Albion as the overall regional con-
ference chairman, Charlotte
Edelheit as the local chairman
and Betty Eidelman as program
chairman.

After opening with a tradi-
tional Shabbat dinner, the keyn-
ote speaker will be Richard Lo-
benthal, director of the Michigan
Anti-Defamation League of B'nai
B'rith. The delegates also will
hear from Dr. Sandra Lyness, who
will conduct a workshop on
domestic violence within the
Jewish Family; a panel discussion
on "Jewish Women, Myth and
Reality," moderated by Joan Is-
rael; Havdallah services led by
Michael Brooks, Hillel director at
the. University of Michigan;
Michigan State Sen. Lana Pol-
lack, keynote speaker at the
awards banquet; and at the clos-
ing brunch, the keynoter will be
Michigan State Sen. Jack Faxon.
