Parents and children are invited to visit the school and facilities and meet the staff. The nursery school offers Judaic and general studies. The classes are staffed by two teachers, a Judaic studies teacher and a general studies teacher. Through play, art, cooking, dance and song, language development and reading readiness are stressed. Field trips and school visitors are frequently scheduled. Weekly music classes and use of the school library are also in- cluded. Daily experiences with Jewish customs and ceremonies and a weekly Shabbat party are in- cluded in the program. Shirlee Rose Iden, suburban life editor of the Southfield Eccentric, received three awards at the re- cent communicator's conference of Women in Communications, Inc., in Ft. Wayne, Ind. Mrs. Iden received a first place prize for a story on Avital Shcharansky. She received a sec- ond place honor for coverage of Oakland County's first test-tube baby, and another second place prize for page design for her sec- tion.
