LAUGHTER AND WARM

sentiments . . .

were keynote of
tribute to Karen and Norman Fell
. . . by Michigan Cancer Founda-
tion . . . Over 1,100 people were at
Westin Hotel for beautiful ban-
quet honoring them.
Evening before, many (about
200) had been at large, sprawling
home of Doreen and Dave Herme-
lin for pre-glow party . . . Effer-
vescent Doug Jacobs and his
lively Red Garter Five kept things
on a peppy musical note both out-
side and inside . . . with Doreen
and David showing folks some
fancy jive-stepping.
Lovely Linda Solomon with
camera around neck was doing
her fabulous thing . . . taking
stills and interviewing the stars
. . . Night of the affair, Linda
would start her new job (she'll re-
main at the Detroit News .. .
they'd be fools to let go fo this gra-
cious, pretty and highly-talented
gal!) at WXYZ-TV as interviewer
while others man the video
cameras . . . Linda will cover all
big parties for Channel 7 . . . to be
shown on "Good Afternoon De-
troit" Wednesdays at 4 p.m.
Doug and Sydell Schubot pro-
udly bragging about their first
grandchild . . . Frank Stella tall
and trim, still very debonair-
looking and favorite of so many
people . . . Paul Zuckerman lost
without wife Helen, in hospital at
time, from recurrence from recent
quirk accident.
Ivan Bloch among the most
comfortable-looking with open
red shirt . . . Character actor
James Whitmore with so much
character written on his noted
face . . . Whitmore's one-man por-
trayal as Harry S. Truman was a
masterpiece . . . Actor Norman
Fell so well-liked because of being
heck of a nice guy . . . He and wife
Karen share much love.
The over -1,100 people who
attended Third Annual affair by
MCF honoring the Fells next
night enjoyed a very gala evening
. . . Why Trapper's Alley had its
opening same evening is very ob-
viously a lack of caring communi-
cation . . . Dan Rappaport sharp
with his black-and-red bowtie .. .
wife Mona absolutely stunning in
her beautiful sequined outfit that
shone as brightly as her smile .. .
They're parents of lovely Linda
Solomon, who certainly gets her
good looks from these two people
. . . Lovely Linda's hubby Barry
one of a kind in double-breasted
tux jacket with brass buttons and
turquoise hankie . . . very smart-
looking combo . . . Donna
Moshauer a masterful job coor-
dinating the public relations.
Film and TV clips introduced by
attending stars were surprise to
Fells and capped a fine evening
for Michigan Cancer Foundation
. . . Video-taped salute with new
skits and out-takes from past
shows, live segments from the
Broadway and Hollywood casts,
taped greetings from many hon-
orary committee members and
spontaneous entertainment of
songs and comedy were a biggie
production of the evening's pro-
gramming.
Westin Hotel food has gotten
better . . . iced cream of
Senegalese soup, chicken piccata,
