"Sight and Sound — An Eve-
ning of Art and Music" will be
presented a 6 p.m. Sunday at
Cong. Beth Shalom. The
evening will begin with a recep-
tion and art show featuring works
on Jewish themes, provided by the
Town Center Gallery.
Sidney and Evelyn Levine of
the Galley will be on hand to dis-
cuss the works, which will be on
display and for sale. Among the
artists to be exhibited are: Rita
Sargent-Simons, Jerry Schurr,
Theo Tobiasse, Sandra Bowden,
Sharga Weil, Robert Natkin,
Lydie Egosi and Guillaume
Azoulay.
At 8 p.m., flutist Alexander
Zonjic and sporano Marilyn
Krimm will perform in the annual
Frank Friedman Memorial Con-
cert.
Ms. Krimm will be accom-
panied by Maria Kardas Barna.
There is no charge for general
admission. Patrons who donate
$50 will receive tickets for six re-
served seats, sponsors ($25), four

reserved seats and donors ($10),
two reserved seats.
Tickets will be available at the
door.
The cultural commission of the
synagogue includes: Bertha
Chomsky and Gloria Ellis, co-
chairmen; and Sidney Berg,
Richard and Elissa Berg,
Mitcheal Bloom, Esther Tarnoff
Cooper, Natalie Halpern Eichen,
Harry Freind, Dr. Arnold
Goldsmith, Lillian Goodman,
Daniel Medow, Sophie Pearlstein,
Matilda Rubin, Harvey and Phyl-
lis Shapiro, Sandra Sherman,
Judy Sima, Marcia Tanzman,
Ellen Slovis and Naomi Zietz.
Cantor Samuel Greenbaum and
Rabbi David Nelson are advisers.

Beth Achim Elects Jacobs

Paul Jacobs was elected
president of Cong. Beth Achim at
the congregation's 18th annual
meeting.

Elected to the board of trustess

for three-year terms were: Leslie
Hubert, Sidney Noveck, Morris
Penner, Morris Richman, Mollie
Shapiro, Sharon Silverman and
Joseph- Silverstein. Serving one
year on the board are Steven
Fink, Abraham Gamer and Paul
Sherizen.
Edward Kohl, Lawrence Rogers
and James Hack will fill unex-
pired terms on the board.

Adat Shalom Synagogue will
observe Seminary Shabbat at
services at 9 a.m. Saturday. This
year's honoree is Philip
Langwald.
He and his wife have sponsored
many seminary breakfasts at the
synagogue. The couple has estab-
lished the Shelby Marvin
Langwald Scholarship at the
Jewish Theological Seminary in
memory of their son to provide
study opportunities for students

from Israel.
The Langwalds have endowed
scholarships for Camp Ramah.
They are supporters of Hillel Day
School, and Langwald is past
preside'nt of the Hebrew Benevo-
lent Society and is active in tasks
on behalf of the Zionist Organiza-
tion of America.
Cheryl Guyer and Ronald Mit-
nick are co-chairmen of the Adat
Shalom Seminary Steering
Committee.
