Dr. Pnina Klein
Dr. Pnina Klein, researcher
and educator at Bar-Ilan Univer-
sity's School of Education, will
meet with a new group of the uni-
versity's friends Thursday at a
meeting hosted by Rissa and
Sheldon Winkelman at their West
Bloomfield home, announced
Howard Tapper, Bar-Ilan's educa-
tion chairman.
The meeting, by invitation
only, is part of Bar-Ilan's Detroit
Friends' effort to bring the uni-
versity's work to the attention of
more and more people in the
community.
Dr. Klein has specialized in the
development of intelligence in the
very young, as well as the preven-
tion of developmental difficultes
in this population. In these
capacities she has worked closely
with the government of Ven-
ezuela in developing the intelli-
gence of that nation's people.
Dr. Kelin joined the Bar-Ilan
staff some six years ago, and is
currently on sabbatical at the Na-
tional Institute of Health, doing
research in the field of child cogni-
tive development. She received
B.A. and M.A. degrees from Bar-
Ilan University, and her Ed.D.
degree from the University of
Rochester.
Before joining Bar-Ilan's fa-
culty she served as director of
Adelphi University's Learning
Disability Center. She is the
author of many books and journal
articles, and she is the recipient of
grants from the Ford Foundation,
the National Institute of Health,
and others.
Assisting Tapper in the planing
of the meeting are the following:
Michael Balkin, Rosa Chessler,
Sid Feldman, Dr. Mark Glasberg,
Sharon Hart, Shelly Jackier,
Gary Ran, Rosie Schlussel, Sher-
man Shapiro, Leila Stollman,
Gary Torgow, Dan Weiner, Lisa
