"Even though I grew up in a fairly traditional honie, I didn't know how to do any- thing myself. Rainbow Con- nection has given our family a feeling of roots and guidance." Lauren Bruss, PTO co- chairman and family life edu- cation committee member, ex- plains that families are encouraged to add to their family home observance little by little. "As they attend workshops and classes, they pick up more ideas. One or two new ideas might fit very com- fortably into their life style. This year it might be lighting Shabbos candles; next year it might be attending Saturday services." Appelman reinforces this idea. "We take people from where they are.
