sharp, wisecracking humor by
adding pathos and real human
interest, which has been key to its
success.
Performances of The Sunshine
Boys are Thursday and Friday at
8 p.m. . . . Saturday at 5:30 and 9
) p.m. . . . and Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
. . . There will be one 2 p.m.
matinee this Sunday, Mother's
Day.
For tickets and reservation in-
' -formation, call the Attic Theater,
963-7789.
BIG LUNCHEON favorite at
2 Excalibur prepared by Executive
Chef Marty Wilk isn't on the
menu . . . He calls it Omelette
Primavera . . . or fresh vegetable
omelette . . . tomatoes, pea pods,
3 'broccoli, artichoke, mushrooms
and spinach.
Had lunch recently with Sandy
1 Linden, whose new beautiful
I offices of Linden Home Health
Care are almost in Excalibur's
back yard . . . on Franklin Road
. . . (Hannah and Jack Linden's
highly successful son started in
his home and now has five stores
formerly called Linden Medical
Center).
The delicious omelette was
brought up by very personable, ef-
ficient and courteous waitress,
Sharon Karsama.
KEITH SCHAFFNER is new
food and beverage director at
I Westin Hotel, Rennaisance Cen-
ter, Detroit . . . responsible for
seven restaurants and lounges, 28
meeting rooms and two exhibit
halls.
SAM SAFERSTEIN, former
Detroiter now living in Miami,
;Fla., recently completed a suc-
cessful drama presentation .. .
10th spanning 25 years and seven
il cities, including one in Israel.
Sam graduated from Central
High as president of his class .. .
and his first play was written in
1950 . . . while a member of De-
troit Hashomer Hatzair at Jewish
Community Center on Dexter .. .
Name was "The Reach For A
Star" . . . at rally marking second
anniversary of Jewish state's
founding . . . It was to raise funds
for group's camp near Clinton,
Mich.
IT'S ONLY A FEW months
old, but Golden Palace in Farrell
Shopping Plaza, Southfield and
121/2 Mile, is already making large
strides as a favorite among many
people . . . Former Imperial
Palace reveals a startling revela-
tion . . . It's clean! . . . And some of
the dishes aren't to be found any-
where in this area . . . Like Snow
Flower Soup, a very healthy white
delicacy that grows on the bottom
of China Sea . . . One dish is called
Mysterious Beef because of the
very secret sauce prepared for it
,. .. Golden Palace is among the
few Chinese restaurants that
have Gkun Bo Gai Dung, which
can be gotten hot, medium, spicy
or mild . . . made with chicken,
peanuts and select vegetables .. .
Unlike many restaurants, owners
of Golden Palace believe in differ-
nt vegetables going with varied
!e dishes . . . It's golden baby -friush-
rooms and golden baby corn are
superb . . . Two other big favorites
are Ho U Gai, white meat chicken,
sweet peapods and oyster oil .. .
