Wayne Segal, 16, son of Mark
and Elaine Segal, was awarded
the $2,000 Sidney Kalt Israel
Scholarship. Wayne, a member of
the Beth Abraham Hillel Moses
Choir, is vice president of the
Brandeis Chapter of AZA and
attends West Bloomfield High
School.
The Sidney Kalt Israel Schol-
arship is awarded annually to a
child or grandchild between 14-18
years of age, of congregation
members as well as of affiliated
groups. Criteria is a Jewish edu-
cation, community service, an
essay on "Why I Want to Visit Is-
rael," and an interview with the
judges panel.
The award is the gift of the Kalt
Family: Bea Kalt and her sons,
Steven, Harold and Allan. Judges
for the 1985 scholarship were Do-
lores Smith, Steven Kalt, Markell
Seitzman and Larry Mondry.
Wins Commendation
Eric Jay Rosenberg has been
commended by the dean of
Northwestern University's Col-
lege of Arts and Sciences for dis-
tinguished academic achieve-
ment during the winter quarter._
He is the son of Sandra J. and
harry Rosenberg of Detroit.
Teddy Bear Rally
The third annual teddy bear
rally will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
May 18 at the Detroit Zoo.
Children can enter their teddy
bears in contests and children
under age 13 accompanied by an
adult will be admitted free of
charge.
The Detroit Metropolitan Or-
chestra will present its third an-
niversary concert on May 18 at
Orchestra Hall at 8 p.m. For tic-

Art Fair Coming
The Birmingham Bloomfield
Art Association will sponsor the
Birmingham Art Fair 10 a.m. to 6
p.m. May 18 and 19 in Shain Park.
Jewelry, fiber art, paintings,
blown glass, ceramics and pottery
will be exhibited.
Chorus To Peform
The Oak Park Civic Chorus will
present its annual spring concert
on May 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Oak
Park High School Auditorium.
There is an admission charge.
Art Exhibit
Painter Constance Lundy and
potter Anita Gilbert will exhibit
their works through Wednesday
at the Southfield Civic Center
Gallery. Hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Monday through Wednesday and
